How to Become a Member

MBBA will consider all parties engaged in the production or marketing of beef cattle, and who bear the risk of production, including tenants, lease holders, and landlords, as eligible for membership.

Individuals may become a member of MBBA when they have submitted an application for membership, which has been approved by MBBA’s Board of Director’s and when they have paid their membership fees. The current membership fee structure is as follows:

• A Lifetime Membership Fee of $1000, includes access to all Member Services offered by MBBA, and allows for the opportunity to enjoy patronage refunds and dividend income, as the Board of Directors issues refunds and dividend payments to the membership. A lifetime membership provides an individual with one share of voting stock in the cooperative and as well as shares of non-voting or preferred stock. The quantity of non-voting stock may vary with its purchase price at the time of membership.

• An Annual Membership Fee of $200, includes access to all Member Services offered by MBBA, and allows for the opportunity to enjoy patronage refunds as the Board of Directors issues refunds to the membership. Annual members may receive dividend payments as their annual membership fee goes toward the purchase of one share of voting stock and shares of non-voting stock. The quantity of non-voting stock may vary with its purchase price at the time of membership or renewal. Individuals renewing their annual for five years will achieve lifetime membership status and will retain all shares of voting and non-voting stock purchased during the previous five year period. If an individual elects not to renew his or her membership during the initial five year membership period, that individual will be required to relinquish his or her share of voting stock to the cooperative and may be required to relinquish his or her shares of non-voting stock.
